While thousands of acts apply to showcase their music to industry professionals, only 150 are selected.
It will be DENNI's second time at BIGSOUND from when she first played eight years ago, however things will look a bit different for the local who was busking in the Brisbane Street Mall at the time.
"I didn't really understand the weight of the festival and what it can do in terms of industry level stuff then," DENNI said.
"I've done a bit since then, and I'm pretty keen to go and meet some Mob up in Brisbane."
Previous iterations of BIGSOUND have churned out a number of success stories, including names like Baker Boy, Thelma Plum, Sycco and more.
DENNI said it was always good to represent the state when she could.
"It's always good to represent lutruwita; I've got some songs out there now like Strongest Mob and Know My Worth that are really responding to the Indigenous music industry," DENNI said.

"To be able to go up and share some of lutruwita's lingo and language, and some of our pride and culture, is going to be just as exciting as going to meet other artists as well."
She said Tasmania was "kicking goals" in the arts community.
"I think sometimes the issue is getting heard on the mainland and abroad, but we're really strong in terms of an arts community and festivals; I feel like we're really starting to pick up again," she said.
Along with the release of three singles this year, DENNI recently performed at this year's DARK MOFO and even sang for contestants of SBS show 'Alone' at a Welcome to Country before they set off into the wilderness.
She said she also received a scholarship through Spotify which teaches artists production and recording.
"For me, that's sort of a really exciting step forward as an independent artist and someone who engages with the community and youth a lot," DENNI said.
"I really want to get those tools under my belt so that I can get out there and help other Mobs make music too."
Besides playing at BIGSOUND, she said she was looking forward to some sun and getting amongst her peers in the music industry.
"Hopefully I'll meet some new people and rep Tassie hard...I'll be there."
