At Home Exhibition, on the ground floor of the RSL on Wellington Street, features the work of 26 LAS artists.
The new headquarters offers an exhibition space, studio and social network.
Exhibition co-ordinator Carlene Bullock said working with fellow artists was excellent for development.
"You can do well working on your own, but contact with other artists can be very valuable," she said.
LAS president Susie Shaw said the society was lucky to have excellent local artists who were happy to tutor.
"We try and offer a diversity of workshops like different mediums, whether they're oil or pastel or watercolour or design and drawing or botanical," she said.
The exhibition is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm until Wednesday, April 13.
