Brown collected 14 Brownlow votes in a season he kicked 63.30 to finish fourth on the Coleman Medal table and finish third in North Melbourne’s best and fairest.
This included a three-vote effort against Melbourne in round 9 and Brisbane in round 23, and four two vote hauls. The 24-year-old started the night with just three career Brownlow votes.
The next best Tasmanian was Hobart’s Aaron Hall at Gold Coast, who picked up 10 votes, collecting eight of them in the opening 10 rounds.
Clarence’s Jack Riewoldt collected six votes, while ineligible Richmond teammate Toby Nankervis got the first two votes of his AFL life.
North Hobart’s Liam Jones’ resurgence in the second half of the year as a key defender saw him pick up five votes.
Launceston’s Thomas Bellchambers collected two votes in Essendon’s win over the Suns in round 22.
Tasmanian-born St Kilda legend Nick Riewoldt finished with four votes.
Meanwhile, Tasmanian great Matthew Richardson will be the man to hand the premiership cup to Damien Hardwick and Trent Cotchin if Richmond are successful in Saturday’s grand final.
The AFL bestowed the honour on the 282-game, 800-goal Tiger on Tuesday.
Two-time Adelaide premiership captain Mark Bickley will present the cup if the Crows are victorious at the MCG.
