Southern Storm set the Force 161 for victory at Youngtown Oval and a brilliant 123-run partnership between Courtney Webb and Emma Manix-Geeves made the chase look easy.
Webb (78 not out) was joined at the crease by Manix-Geeves (48 not out) following the wicket of Meg Radford (5) when the Force were on 39.
The pair hit a combined 14 boundaries to guide them home in 26.1 overs.
Olivia McDonald was the South’s most prolific run scorer in the first innings with 34 as both Ellie Mathews (2-30) and Elyse Page (2-16) finished with a couple of wickets each for the victors.
The state under-15s side took down the North-West Lightning by three-wickets at Windsor Park.
The Lightning were bowled out for 103 with Esther Magor (27) and Laura Indge (17) their best performers as Tasmania’s Zoe Burke (4-22) made scoring tough.
The state team struggled in response as their middle-order collapsed with Sarah Breckweg, Taylah Croucher and Sam Roberts all falling for nought. Stacey Norton-Smith was the hero with an unbeaten 29 as Tasmanian finished 7-105 after 32.5 overs. Madeline Clarke (3-16) was the North-West’s star bowler.
On Monday, the Force defeated the state under-15 girls in a thriller.
Radford (22) and Manix-Geeves (26) guided the North to 122 with Breckweg (2-5), Clare Scott (2-7) and Burke (2-15) the state’s main destroyers in dismissing the North in the 37th over.
Breckweg top scored with 17 for Tasmania as the North’s Sophie Parkin picked up 4-25 and Nicola Dusautoy finished with 2-22 to help bowl the state out with 15 overs to spare – securing a 13-run win.
The Storm were 69-runs too good for the North-West with Louise Maddock (30) and Emily Molnar (17) contributing to their 184 total.
Cara Watkins was the North-West’s best bowler with 2-27 before Jenna Farrow (20) was the only batter to reach double figures during their run chase. The Lightning were cleaned up for 115 in 34.4 overs.
The focus will switch from 50-over matches to Twenty20 games on Wednesday with four games to take place at NTCA No.2 Ground and UTas Stadium.
