The duo will be performing acoustically as part of their ‘Rebellion’ national tour.
Since being crowned the winner in the first series of The Voice in 2012, Karise has released two albums, ‘My Journey’ and ‘Things I’ve Done’, which debuted at number five in 2014.
Karise’s most recent Summer Soul tour across Australia played to full houses, and the ‘Rebellion’ tour will see Karise performing mostly solo.
The singer-songwriter said the ‘Rebellion’ tour was about enjoying her music.
“I really wanted to get back into getting on stage with just my guitar and really finding myself musically again,” she said.
Throughout the tour, Karise and Dean perform both solo and duo acts.
“I’ve found a really good musical friendship with Dean, it’s just been going brilliant,” Karise said.
Known as “the guy with a guitar”, Dean Ray was also the runner-up during the sixth season of The X Factor Australia.
Last year Dean performed more than 150 shows nationally and internationally and in between touring commitments he is writing and preparing for his second album to be independently released this year.
Dean described the ‘Rebellion’ show as “quite intimate”.
“It’s just a cool vibe,” he said.
“I love being in front of people and experiencing the energy of the live performance.
“There’s nothing like it and that’s what drives me.”
He said working alongside Karise had been “a lot of fun”.
“She’s got a similar sense of humour to me and she’s become like a sister,” he said.
“People seem to enjoy both of our performances and we gel well.”
Both Dean and Karise haven’t ruled out working together again.
“I’m sure we will, Karise has already spoken to me about it so it’s definitely a possibility,” Dean said.
The duo will perform their final show for the national tour in Launceston on Sunday at the Country Club.
