RIVERSIDE batter Stephanie Carr scored an unbeaten half-century to help steer her side to a nine-wicket victory over Launceston in their NTCA women's Twenty20 clash at the NTCA Ground on Sunday.

Carr top scored with 57 not out, including 10 boundaries, in a good knock, as the Blues chased down Launceston's total of 5-94, to finish at 1-96, in reply.
Launceston captain Dana Lester won the toss and elected to bat first sending in Meg Phillips (34) and Rhianne Hack (19) who combined well in the opening stand.
The first Launceston wicket fell at 1-52, when Hack was caught in the deep off Riverside's best bowler Maddison Hill.
Hill took the figures of 2-11, off four overs, leading the fightback with the ball after Launceston achieved 50 off 10 overs.
Phillips and new batter Lester then continued to look promisingly until Phillips was caught behind for 34 off Hill with Jeanmarie Els taking a diving catch to her left behind the stumps.
The team made 5-94, an encouraging start and a better performance with the bat that in round 1, a fortnight ago.
Carr lost her opening partner Emma Manix-Geeves, bowled for a duck by Rhianne Hack on a low wicket as Riverside started its run chase.
But Carr (57 not out) and Lauren Hepburn (23) worked hard and were able to reach 1-96, with six overs to spare.
MOWBRAY took on South Launceston at NTCA No. 2 in the other game and South batter Caitlyn Webster was the standout for the Knights top scoring with 45.
The Eagles managed 8-53, with Simone Mitchell top scoring with 18 and Cassie Blair 16, the pair combining in a good partnership in the middle order.
South bowlers Amanda Sweeney took 2-2, off three overs and Meg Radford 1-2, off three.
South lost Courtney Webb for 2 to a brilliant catch by Cassie Blair off the bowling of Simone Mitchell.
But fellow opener Webster anchored the run chase smashing the Mowbray attack around the ground as it reached 1-55, in reply, off 5.3 overs.
Riverside takes on South Launceston at Riverside and Launceston meets Mowbray at the NTCA Ground in round 3 matches at 4.30pm on Sunday.
