Visitors to the region can base themselves in one of the main centres of Burnie and Devonport, or any of the smaller towns nestled in the area’s hills and valleys. The region contains some of Tasmania’s most productive cropping and dairy land, and the farming community of Wynyard celebrate spring each year with a colourful tulip festival. The area is also known for its seafood, summer fruits and berries, and friendly locals.
